Nature Filled Urban Space
This small L shaped garden in Guildford, Surrey illustrates perfectly where I help clients to focus on the positive aspects of their garden, seeking solutions not problems! Obtaining the missing quarter had become the clients’ sole focus until I managed to demonstrate that the missing piece actually made the space that remained more interesting. I divided the main garden space into thirds, with the central area being a striped artificial lawn. On one side there was a fabulous outdoor living area and on the other an area for al fresco dining. Wide paved steps lead up to a secluded area that enjoys panoramic views over Guildford Cathedral and the Surrey Hills. The contemporary garden design is enhanced with a hot colour palette of plants in vibrant oranges, fiery reds and sunny yellows offset against cooling green foliage, all selected for their attractiveness to wildlife.
